Four Irish Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS.  –  Four Notre Dame women’s lacrosse members earned All-Region honors as announced by the IWLCA on Thursday May 12. 

Madison Ahern and Kasey Choma earned First Team West/Midwest Region honors. Diana Kelly and Kelly Denes earned Second Team West/Midwest Region honors.

Ahern enters the NCAA Tournament second on the Irish squad so far 56 goals. She was also named a Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse/IL Women on March 31, and was named to the All-ACC Second Team.

Choma enters the NCAA Tournament leading the Irish with 57 goals, 28 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers. She was also named to the All-ACC First Team, and Inside Lacrosse/IL Women Midseason All-American on March 31,2022. 

Diana Kelly has been a force to be reckoned with on defense as she has caused 20 turnovers, and tallied 59 draw controls. She has also picked up 27 ground balls this season and has surpassed 100 career ground balls. 

Kelly Denes has proven herself on the draw circle as she is just seven draw controls away from 100 on the season. Denes tallied 17 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. She also has scored 13 goals. 

The Irish kick off the NCAA Tournament on Friday May 13 at 8:00 pm eastern time. They take on the Michigan Wolverines in the first round at Martin Stadium on the campus of Northwestern University.
