NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Seven former Notre Dame football greats have been named to the Walter Camp Foundation All-Century Team announced today by the Foundation and presented by Street & Smith’s and sponsored by Coca-Cola.

Of the 83 players named to the team, seven attended Notre Dame:

  • Ross Browner, defensive line
  • Leon Hart, defensive line
  • Chris Zorich, defensive line
  • John Lattner, cornerback
  • John Lujack, quarterback
  • Raghib Ismail, receiver
  • Tim Brown, receiver

Notre Dame had more representatives than any other institution, with Nebraska and Ohio State second with six, followed by USC with five.

Of the 24 first-team selections, Notre Dame had two — Browner and Hart.

Members of the team were selected based on their college performances and their selection to the annual Walter Camp All-America team. The squad was selected by a panel of current and retired college football head coaches, sports information directors and selected members of the media.

Brown and Ismail were selected the Walter Camp Player of the Year in 1987 and 1990, respectively.
