Flores, Yu Report to Training Camp

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame’s Monica Flores and Sandra Yu are scheduled to train with the Mexico Women’s National Team and the United States’ U-23 Women’s National Team, respectively, this fall.

Flores made the start at defender for Mexico in the team’s friendly at Costa Rica on Saturday. The Irish senior out of Livingston, New Jersey, appeared in 19 games and recorded one goal and five assists for Notre Dame in 2017.

Flores previously competed with Mexico in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and the 2015 U-20 CONCACAF Championship.

Yu, who reported to camp on Tuesday, turned in a career season, accumulating 21 points on eight goals and five assists. An All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection, Yu started all 22 games for Notre Dame in 2017 and each of the team’s last 61 games.

Yu also played on the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team in 2015 and 2017.
