INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — After a successful rookie campaign and a berth in the NCAA Diving Zone C Finals on the 3-meter board, rising Irish sophomore Austin Flaute competed at the USA Diving Senior National Championships, looking for a spot on Team USA at the World Championships in July.
Qualifying for the national championship with a fifth place finish on the 1-meter board and a 13th-place mark on the 3-meter last week, Flaute continued his quest for a spot on the national team.
Finishing the 1-meter competition on Wednesday with a point total of 246.55, he took 29th overall. In the 3-meter national contest he finished with 286.80 points to finish 29th again.
