April 12, 2006

The Notre Dame baseball team will be featured on five telecasts during the second half of the 2006 season, including tomorrow’s doublehader with St. John’s to be shown live on CSTV (April 13, with set start times of 12:07 and 4:07). ESPN-U also will televise the Notre Dame-Purdue game on April 25 (note that the start time of that game was shifted to 7:05) while Detroit-based Comcast Local is set to televise the ND-IPFW game on April 19 and the annual game with Michigan in Grand Rapids on May 16 (check local listings for Comcast affiliates that may pick up those telecasts, live or delayed).

Notre Dame’s starting pitcher rotation for the doubleheader versus St. John’s features junior righthander Jeff Samardzija pitching in the first game (12:07) while senior lefthander Tom Thornton will pitch game-2 at 4:07. Please note that both games will be nine innings and that the second game has a set start time due to the live TV broadcast and will not begin earlier than 4:07, regardless of the length of game-1.

ESPN-U also will telecast the BIG EAST Championship title game, to be played May 27 in Clearwater, Fla.
