Five Things To Look Forward To At Blue Gold

April 21, 2017

April 21, 2017 – I came to Notre Dame right before football season last Fall so this will be my first Blue-Gold game day experience.

Even though it’s just a Spring game, who doesn’t get excited about any chance you get to see the team play in Notre Dame Stadium.

Since the end of the season until now there have been a lot of changes and just like you I’m excited to see how the team has transitioned.

1. Stadium Renovations

I know some of you are like me and you’re extremely impatient and wondering when all the construction will be over. The good news is Campus Crossroads has made A LOT of progress since everyone was last in Notre Dame Stadium.

2. “Body Built by Balis”

“What influences your team the most is your strength and conditioning,” said Brian Kelly in his press conference before Spring Ball began.

Since hiring Matt Balis as the Director of Football Performance, the team’s overall physical appearance and strength has improved tremendously in just a short amount of time.

3. Quarterback Play

With DeShone Kizer NFL Bound, all eyes are on Sophomore, Brandon Wimbush, who is at the top of the depth chart followed by Ian Book and Montgomery VanGorder.

4. New Coaching Staff

If you’re wondering how the team is adjusting to their new coaching staff including Brian Polian, DelVaughn Alexander, Clark Lea and Mike Elko they have easily transitioned into the Notre Dame Family.

5. The Team

It goes without saying that this team has a lot of fight in them and after an intense semester of Spring conditioningââ’¬¦they can’t wait to get back under those lights in Notre Dame Stadium.
