LONG ROAD STRETCH SET TO END AT CINCINNATI, FOLLOWED BY HOME GAME WITH LOUISVILLE – The top-ranked Notre Dame women’s soccer team (8-0-0) will wrap up a stretch of five straight road games with Friday night’s tilt at Cincinnati (Sept. 22; 7:00 EDT) before opening a five-game homestand two days later vs. Louisville (Sept. 24; 1:00)… Friday’s action will mark the sixth game away from home in the first nine for Notre Dame … the Irish are riding a 438-minute shutout streak and have scored 15 straight unanswered goals (since Santa Clara claimed an early lead in that Sept. 3 showdown of top-ranked teams) … ND has racked up 78 second-half goals (2.4/gm) spanning the 2005 and ’06 seasons (20-0 in ’06) … ND owns the second-longest scoring streak (44 games) in the program’s history, with a 166-22 scoring margin in the streak … fans are reminded of the new Irish Alert text-messaging system for women’s soccer in-game updates (see the Irish Alert link on the und.com women’s soccer page) … the ND Sports Hotline also will have a postgame wrapup after every game (574-631-3000, then option 4 and then option 2) … free live audio will be available at und.com (which also includes links to GameTracker live-stats for both games this weekend).
