WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Due to inclement weather in the area, the third and final round of the Boilmaker Invitational has been cancelled. The Notre Dame men’s golf team will thus end the tournament in a tie for seventh place with a 586, even-par score, just two strokes out of a top-five showing.
“This team has shown resilience all year, competing our best on every shot and most often scoring our best in the final round,” Notre Dame head coach John Handrigan stated. “Unfortunately we can’t control the weather and we didn’t get the opportunity today. However, I know this team and I know we will persevere. We will be ready to go for the ACC Championships.”
Senior Miguel Delgado finished three-under par and in a tie for 12th place. It marked his fourth consecutive tournament under-par. Junior Davis Lamb followed right behind at two-under par, finishing in 18th place, marking his second tournament under-par this spring.
The Irish will return to action on Thursday, April 18, at the ACC Championships, taking place at the Old North State Club in New London, North Carolina.
