Fighting Irish Men's Soccer Season Tickets Now On Sale

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Season and individual tickets are now on sale for the 2011 Notre Dame men’s soccer season. The Fighting Irish will play nine regular season matches at Alumni Stadium, which is one of the top collegiate soccer facilities in the country.

A season pass is $40 for adults and $30 for youth (21 and under)/seniors (55 and older). Kids three years of age and younger are free for all regular season games. A fan pack, which includes four season passes, is $100. Individual game tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth/seniors. Tickets for the Fighting Irish women’s soccer team also are on sale for the same price.

There is free admission for Notre Dame/Saint Mary’s/Holy Cross students with a valid student ID. Notre Dame faculty and staff also will receive free admission for regular season matches with a current Notre Dame ID. Those offers are void when capacity is reached.

For all Notre Dame home soccer matches, fans are encouraged to park in the C1 lot (the main lot located south of Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center and just steps away from the main entrance to Alumni Stadium).

On Saturday, August 13, the Notre Dame men’s and women’s soccer teams will host the `Meet the Team Barbeque’ at the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend. The event features games, face painting, autographs and the opportunity to interact with the student-athletes. The time of the event is not set at this time. The Fighting Irish will play host to Creighton in an exhibition match on Monday, August 22. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. (ET). The contest is free to the public, yet donations for Grassroot Soccer will be accepted at the gate. Grassroot Soccer is an international AIDS awareness and education organization that reaches youth in Africa through soccer clinics. Dr. Tommy Clark, the son of Notre Dame head coach Bobby Clark, is the founder and CEO of the organization.

The Irish will open the regular season on Saturday, Aug. 27 against in-state rival Indiana at 7:30 p.m. (ET) at Alumni Stadium.

The Fighting Irish will play host to the 10th annual Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament on Sept. 9 and 11. Indiana and Bucknell will get things underway on Friday, Sept. 9, while Notre Dame will take on Denver in the second match of the evening. Day two features Indiana facing Denver and the Irish squaring off with Bucknell.

Notre Dame’s 2011 home schedule also features September showdowns with 2010 NCAA semifinalist Michigan (Sept. 16) and national runner-up Louisville (Sept. 24). The Irish will have four home dates in October. Those matches are against Northwestern (Oct. 5), Connecticut (Oct. 8), Seton Hall (Oct. 19) and the regular-season finale against West Virginia (Oct. 29).

The Fighting Irish posted a 10-6-4 overall record in 2010 and finished second in the BIG EAST Blue Division with a 6-2-1 league mark. The Irish were semifinalists at the BIG EAST Championship and garnered the No. 9 seed in the NCAA Championship. Notre Dame fell to Dartmouth, 2-1 in overtime, during the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Notre Dame will be seeking its 11th straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011. The current streak of 10 consecutive NCAA appearances ranks fifth among all NCAA Division I men’s programs. The Fighting Irish also are the only BIG EAST team to qualify for the league tournament semifinals in each of the past four seasons.
