Fighting Irish Fan Chat - Sept. 22

Sept. 20, 2010

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – UND.com is debuting another of its new interactive features for the 2010-11 season, with its weekly Fighting Irish Fan Chats. Each Wednesday afternoon, UND.com will sit down for a live chat session with student-athletes, coaches and administrators making news in the world of Fighting Irish athletics. Fans are invited to join in and offer questions or comments for our guests, and if you can’t join us live, each chat will be archived so you can return to UND.com at your convenience and read what your favorite Notre Dame athletic personalities have to say on a variety of topics.

Our fourth Fighting Irish Fan Chat will take place from 1:00-2:30 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, Sept. 22, as Notre Dame women’s soccer coach Randy Waldrum, men’s golf coach Jim Kubinski and offensive linemen Braxston Cave and Zack Martin will join us. Cave and Martin, both Indiana natives, will open the chat at 1:00 p.m. (ET).

Cave and Martin are each in their first year as starters on the Fighting Irish offensive line. Cave is a junior center from Penn High School in Mishawaka, while Martin is a sophomore left tackle from Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis. The pair are helping Notre Dame prepare for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. (ET) clash with No. 16/17 Stanford at Notre Dame Stadium.

Waldrum and the No. 7/9 Fighting Irish women’s soccer team stand 7-1 on the season after this past weekend’s sweep of DePaul and Northwestern. Notre Dame will host BIG EAST rival Cincinnati at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Alumni Stadium.

Kubinski and the Irish men’s golf team recently finished second at the 2010 College of Charleston Invite at Kiawah Island. Notre Dame returns to action this weekend when it plays host to the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic on Sept. 26-27.
