Fighting Irish Fan Chat - Feb. 17

Feb. 16, 2011 is debuting another of its new interactive features for the 2010-11 season, with its weekly Fighting Irish Fan Chats. will sit down for a live chat session with student-athletes, coaches and administrators making news in the world of Fighting Irish athletics. Fans are invited to join in and offer questions or comments for our guests, and if you can’t join us live, each chat will be archived so you can return to at your convenience and read what your favorite Notre Dame athletic personalities have to say on a variety of topics.

Thursday’s Fighting Irish Fan Chat will welcome in a pair of front-line players, as junior men’s lacrosse attackman Sean Rogers and senior men’s basketball forward Tyrone Nash will take their turn in the hot seat. Rogers will open the chat at 1 p.m. (ET), before giving way to Nash at the bottom of the hour (1:30 p.m. ET).

Rogers is expected to be one of Notre Dame’s top offensive threats this season, after piling up 14 goals and five assists a year ago, helping the Fighting Irish advance all the way to the NCAA national championship game before losing in overtime to Duke. No. 6/7 Notre Dame will open its season on Sunday with a chance to avenge that title game loss to the Blue Devils, as the two powers collide at 3 p.m. (ET) in Jacksonville, Fla., at Everbank Field, the home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

Nash has started all 25 games this season for the No. 8/7 Fighting Irish, ranking fifth on the team in scoring (9.6 ppg.) and third in rebounding (5.8 rpg.), assists (2.6 apg.) and field goal percentage (.477). Notre Dame returns to action Saturday when it travels to West Virginia for a 1 p.m. (ET) BIG EAST matchup that will be televised live to a national audience on CBS.
