NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame volleyball freshman outside hitter Andrea McHugh was named BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this year, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

Cincinnati’s Stephanie Niemer was named Player of the Week for a conference single-season record sixth time. The combination of Niemer and McHugh has been recognized as BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, three times this season.

McHugh earned the fifth honor after helping Notre Dame to conference wins over St. John’s (Oct. 30) and Connecticut (Oct. 31).
