NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The 50 participants in the 2004 Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp returned to Cartier Field this morning to continue preparation for Saturday’s flag football game in Notre Dame Stadium.
After breakfast at the Morris Inn and a pre-practice meeting in the Notre Dame football meeting room, the campers took the field for a special teams practice. The collection of former Notre Dame players and coaches and current Irish coaches led the workout, and instructed the campers on the finer points of the kicking and return games. The workout concluded after the campers and coaches walked through in-game situations and strategies.
Current Irish defensive line coach Greg Mattison addressed the campers at the conclusion of practice about the football recruiting process and Notre Dame’s philosophy on the subject.
This afternoon, a golf tournament will be held for the campers and coaches at Notre Dame’s Warren Golf Course. After the outing, which will be run in scramble format, is finished, the group will be served dinner at the course, and then transported back to the Morris Inn for the evening.
