NOTRE DAME, Indiana – University of Notre Dame senior wide receiver and captain Austin Webster has been awarded a scholarship for the 2017-18 school year by Dick Corbett Head Football Coach Brian Kelly.
Webster (Westchester, CA/Windward H.S.), the first active Fighting Irish walk-on to be named a captain, has played in one game since joining the program as a walk-on prior to the 2014 season. He will graduate in May 2018 from the Mendoza College of Business with a degree in finance and a minor in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Irish open the 2017 season against Temple at 3:30 p.m. EDT Sept. 2 at Notre Dame Stadium.
