Deehan & Choma Named IWLCA All-Americans

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Senior goaltender Bridget Deehan was named an IWLCA First Team All-American and sophomore midfielder Kasey Choma earned Second Team accolades, it was announced Tuesday afternoon (June 8).

It marks the first IWLCA All-American honors for both Deehan and Choma, who also earned IWLCA All West/Midwest Region accolades last month.

Deehan, a First Team All-ACC honoree, led the conference with a mark of 9.28 saves per game in 2021 and recorded double-digit saves in nine contests. The Milton, Georgia, native was named the ACC’s and IWLCA’s Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions this season and was also an Honorable Mention Inside Lacrosse All-American. Deehan finished the 2021 campaign with an ACC-leading 167 saves, which is the sixth-highest single-season mark in program history.

Choma, a Second Team All-ACC selection, led the Irish with 45 goals in 2021 and ranked second on the team with 50 points. An Inside Lacrosse Second Team All-American, Choma collected at least four points in six games this season, including a six-goal effort on April 21 vs. Virginia Tech. The Manorville, New York, native was also named to the ACC’s All-Tournament Team following a hat trick in the quarterfinals vs. Duke.
