NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving squad was named a Scholar All-American Team for the fall of 2010, the College Swimming Coaches of America Association (CSCAA) announced recently. Notre Dame ranked eighth nationally with a team grade-point average of 3.25.

“We are very honored to receive this award, as it is a reflection of our team’s hard work in the classroom,” Irish head coach Tim Welsh said. “Our student-athletes are students, first and foremost, and their dedication to academics is something they should be able to hang their hat on.”

The award is presented annually by the CSCAA to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving the standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
