Cross Country Announces 2022 Schedule

SOUTH BEND, In. – On Tuesday the Notre Dame cross country team announced their 2022 fall competition schedule. 

The Irish will kick off their season at the Winrow-Valparaiso Invite hosted by Valparaiso on Friday September 2, 2022. The race is currently scheduled to start at 5:45 pm. At last year’s race, the Notre Dame men took home first place, and the women took second. 

Notre Dame will move to its home course to host two consecutive meets on September 16 and September 30. The National Catholic Invitational will be on September 16 and kick off at 3:30 pm. 

The Joe Piane Invitational will start at 10:00 am on September 30. As of now, 34 institutions from across the country will converge on campus, with several different races going off between 10:30 am and 2:15 pm.

After hosting for two weeks in a row, the Irish will travel to Madison, Wisconsin for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invite. 

Postseason competition will include the ACC Championships at Charlottesville, VA on October 28, 2022. Last season, the men’s team claimed the ACC Championship crown, while the women took fifth place.

Notre Dame will go from the ACC Championships to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 11, 2022. The Great Lakes Regional will be hosted on the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course at Terre Haute, Indiana. 

Just a week later, the Irish will compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 19, 2022. The NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
