The Notre Dame cross country programs each received academic awards from the NCAA recently.

Cross Country And Track And Field Squads Earn Elite NCAA Academic Award

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams have all been awarded the NCAA Public Recognition Award for academic excellence, the NCAA announced recently.

The honor is awarded to teams that have an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rating (APR) that is in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.

In addition to their elite year in the classroom, the Irish turned in impressive performances on the field of competition as well. Both cross country teams competed at the NCAA Championships, the men’s track and field teams swept the BIG EAST Indoor and Outdoor Championships and the women’s track and field teams finished fourth at the indoor championships and second at the outdoor championships.
