NOTRE DAME, Ind. ââ’¬” University of Notre Dame rising senior men’s diver Joseph Coumos is set to participate at the 2016 United States Olympics Trials this Monday, June 20, at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Coumos, a Tomball, Texas native and two-time Monogram winner, will open his trials at 10 a.m. ET Monday (June 20) in the 3-meter springboard prelims. The semifinals are set for 7 p.m. ET with the finals scheduled for 4:40 p.m. ET Saturday (June 25).

Before taking the 2015-16 season off to train for the Olympic Trials, Coumos turned in a pair of outstanding years with the Irish as a freshman and sophomore. He competed in three events at the 2014 NCAA Championships, finishing 19th on the 1-meter (324.10), 23rd on the platform (259.30) and 27th on the 3-meter (325.6).

A year later he claimed 20th on the 3-meter (370.30) and 23rd on the 1-meter board (330.00) at the NCAA meet, becoming just the second Irish men’s diver to qualify twice for the NCAA Championships (Michael Bulfin, 2006 & 2008).
