Colin Falls Selected To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll For Second Consecutive Week

Notre Dame, Ind. – For the second consecutive week, Colin Falls (Park Ridge, Ill.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds after leading the Irish to a 1-1 last week in two road games.

In Notre Dame’s 103-91 win at Syracuse, he scored 16 points and dished off three assists. Falls connected on 5-11 shots from the field and was 4-10 from three-point range. In his team’s 69-63 loss at South Florida, the senior guard netted a season-high 26 points (his fifth 20-plus point outing of the season) as he matched his career best with 10 field goal (on 18 attempts) and equaled a season-high with six three-pointers (on 13 attempts) and grabbed six rebounds (one away from a season best).

Currently, Falls is second on the team in scoring at 14.0 points per game and is shooting 43.0 percent from the field (89-207) and 38.5 percent (65-169) from three-point range. He has averaged 10.9 points per game during his career and has scored 1,222 career points in 112 outings (81 career starts). Heading into Thursday night’s game against DePaul, he needs six three-pointers to become the school’s career three-point leader.

McHugh Mattis of South Florida was named the league’s player of the week, while Da’Sean Butler of West Virginia garnered rookie-of-the-week accolades. In addition to Falls, other Honor Roll honorees this week were Draelon Burns (DePaul), Jeff Green (Georgetown), Jerel McNeal (Marquette) and Brian Laing (Seton Hall).
