Bio

Coach Kelly is entering his second year at the University of Notre Dame as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Olympic sports. He serves daily as the strength and conditioning coach for men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s cross country. 

Prior to joining the Notre Dame Strength and Conditioning staff Kelly spent 2 years at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. While at Duke Kyle volunteered as a sports performance coaching assistant for all 26 Olympic sports teams as well as men’s and women’s basketball. 

A native of Galway, Ireland Kyle has a Bachelor’s of Science from the National University of Galway and went on to graduate from the University of Limerick, Ireland with his Master of Science in sports performance. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. 

Before moving to the USA, Coach Kelly worked as a strength and conditioning specialist at the Santry Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin. During his time at the sports surgery clinic Kyle lead patients through the clinics ACL, hip and groin rehabilitation pathways, while also working with patients with chronic low back pain and obesity.
