[quote]It[apos]s great to have someone with Kristen[apos]s experience return as part of our staff. She was an integral part of one the most successful periods in our program. She understands our system and will work well assisting Brooke with the defensive unit,[quote] said Coyne.

As a senior last season, Gaudreau helped the Notre Dame defense record its[apos] second lowest goals-against-average (8.54) in the program[apos]s history. She started 17 games and chipped in seven goals and one assist while recording 27 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls.

She moved from attack to defense as a junior and became an integral member of the defensive unit. Gaudreau finished her career with 14 goals and two assists for 16 career points.

A three-sport athlete at St. Mary[apos]s High School in Annapolis, Md., Gaudreau graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in accountancy.
