Kari Oliver joined the University of Notre Dame Sports Performance department in 2015 as a sports nutrition associate.

In her role, Oliver works alongside head nutritionist Dwight Allison in fueling and educating the Fighting Irish football team. She coordinates all meals and snacks at home and on the road, as well as oversees training table for the football team. Oliver conducts body composition testing, runs one-on-one nutrition counseling sessions for student-athletes, and gives nutrition team talks to football in addition to volleyball, baseball, softball, fencing, men’s golf and cheerleading. She also serves on the Athletics Supplement Committee.

Prior to working at Notre Dame, Oliver was a sports nutrition intern at the University of Southern California. She also served as a lifestyle educator at Kaiser Permanente for three and a half years, educating and counseling those with physical limitations and various medical conditions on exercise and healthy living practices. She also worked as a sports nutrition summer intern at Baylor University.

Oliver received her Bachelors degree in kinesiology and conc. exercise science from California Baptist University in 2011, and her Masters in nutritional science from California State University – Los Angeles in 2015. She completed her dietetic internship in 2014-15, and completed her rotations at a variety of places, including Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif,; the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department men’s and women’s jails in the greater Los Angeles Community; and at USC.

Oliver was a four-year member of the CBU women’s volleyball team, playing libero and serving as captain her senior year as an NAIA Scholar Athlete. During her collegiate years, she traveled to the Dominican Republic, Belize, and Mexico on mission trips. Originally from La Verne, Calif., she now resides in South Bend. In her free time, Oliver enjoys being outdoors, traveling, baking, spending time with family and friends and trying new restaurants.
