Bio

Harland Bower is in his second year in 2017 at Notre Dame as a defensive graduate assistant.

Bower joined the Irish coaching staff after a two-year stint as the outside linebackers coach at Central Arkansas (2014-15). He mentored two-time All-Southland Conference performer Ricky Wyatt, who registered 146 tackles and 31.0 tackles for loss over the last two seasons.

Bower’s coaching career includes stops at Troy (2013, defensive graduate assistant), Rutgers (2012, defensive quality control coach), Murray State (2011, assistant football strength and conditioning coach) and Georgia Military College (2010, defensive backs coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach).

Bower began his playing career in 2005 at Central Michigan, where he redshirted as a freshman. He transferred to Georgia Southern where he recorded 56 tackles in 27 career games.

Bower graduated from Georgia Southern in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in general studies and a minor in criminal justice.

A native of Edison, New Jersey, Bower is married to the former Lauren Leigh Haines.
