Bio

Colleen Looney joined the University of Notre Dame Olympic Strength and Conditioning staff in January 2019. She is responsible for the strength and conditioning programs for softball and track and field.

Prior to Notre Dame, Looney served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Bucknell University where she oversaw the training of nine varsity sport teams. While earning her Master’s degree in Exercise Science at Appalachian State, Looney worked as a graduate assistant and completed an internship with Olympic sports. In addition to her collegiate experience, Looney also served as a tactical athlete performance intern with Navy Special Warfare Group 4 where she worked with special warfare combatant-craft crewmen.

Native to Virginia Beach, Virginia, Looney earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Gettysburg College where she was a four year varsity soccer player. She is certified through the NSCA and holds the USA Weightlifting level one sports performance coach certification.
