Notre Dame, Ind. – When head football coach Tyrone Willingham looks into the stands at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, he wants to see a “Sea of Green.” Willingham is asking the Irish faithful who attend Saturday’s game versus Stanford to wear green in showing support for the Notre Dame football squad as they look to improve to 5-0 on the season.
“The spirit of the team can be seen in the Sea of Green.” Willingham says.
After selling out of all 44,000 of the kelly green shirts marking “The Return To Glory” during the Michigan football weekend, a new shipment of the 2002 version of “The Shirt” is now available in the Notre Dame bookstore, in the UND.com Online Store, as well as at other places on campus including the Varsity Shops. In addition to the shirt, there are also a number of other items being printed on the now-famous kelly green material for people of all age ranges from infants to adults to show your support for the Irish this season.
Willingham hopes everyone will join the student body in creating the ultimate Sea of Green.
