GREENSBORO, N.C. – Daniel Clark won the men’s 1,500m run Saturday at the NCAA East Regional and will represent the Notre Dame track and field team at the upcoming 2010 NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. Clark topped the field of 24 runners at North Carolina A&T State’s Irwin Bell Track on the final day of the regional meet for the victory and broke the tape ahead of Ohio State’s Jeff See, who took second-place in 3:43.14.

Clark’s effort capped off a day for the Irish that also featured a 10th-place showing by Jordan Clark in the same event, and Rebecca Tracy was 13th in the women’s version of the race.

Final invitees for the 2010 NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., will be released early next week. Check back to UND.com for a complete preview.

Men’s 3,000m Steeplechase: Joe Miller (9:16.49) was 37th and Kelly Lynch (9:21.65) took 39th.

Men’s 1,500m Run: Clark (3:43.08) wowed the crowed with a stellar first-place performance. Jordan Carlson (3:49.21) was also solid with a 10th-place run and Johnathan Shawel (3:59.19) was 22nd.

Women’s 1,500m Run: Rebecca Tracy (4:21.29) was 13th in the event.
