SOUTH BEND, IND. – Announced by Inside Lacrosse Women on Monday morning, two Irish have been named 2022 All-Americans. Kasey Choma picks up third team honors and Madison Ahern was named to the honorable mention squad.
Kasey Choma capped the 2022 season leading the Irish with 59 goals, 28 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers. Choma tallied 13 hat tricks on the season scoring at least two goals in 16 contests. She was named to the IWLCA West/Midwest All Region team on May 12. She was also named to the All-ACC First Team, and Inside Lacrosse/IL Women Midseason All-American on March 31,2022.
Ahern finished the season leading the Irish in points with 77 and second on the Irish squad with 57 goals. Ahern established a new career high in goals (6) in the first game of the season and then went on to tie that mark twice throughout the season. She dished out assists in 12 contests of the 2022 season making her the season leader in points. She was named to the IWLCA West/Midwest All Region team on May 12. She was also named a Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse/IL Women on March 31, and was named to the All-ACC Second Team.
