Brian Kelly To Serve As Featured Presenter At 2010 Notre Dame Football Coaches Clinic

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – New Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly will be the featured presenter at the 2010 Notre Dame Football Coaches Clinic.

The sixth-winningest active head coach in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Kelly enters his 20th year as a head coach and begins enters his first season at Notre Dame with a career record of 171-57-2. Over the last three seasons, only three coaches have more wins or a better winning percentage than Kelly.

Joining Kelly as presenters are all members of the Notre Dame coaching staff plus head coaches from four of the top high school programs in Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio.

This year’s clinic will be held on Notre Dame’s campus April 15-17 and is open to all football coaches. Fans interested in receiving an advanced football course taught by the new Irish coaching staff and some of the top high school coaches in the country are welcome to attend.

Frank Lenti, head coach at Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, Willie Snead, head coach at Muskegon Heights High School in Muskegon, Mich., Mike Newsome, head coach at Butler High School in Matthews, N.C., and Steve Specht, head coach at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati will serve as guest speakers.

Chalk-talk sessions will provide attendees with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with various coaching techniques and a chance to know the coaches and other participants.

In addition to the various presentations, participants will get an exclusive look at the 2010 Fighting Irish football team as the squad practices twice during the clinic. Coaches socials both Thursday and Friday evenings, a BBQ dinner on Friday and a tour of the Notre Dame Stadium locker room are all included. Local vendors and exhibitors will also be present during the weekend.

Spots are filling up fast and this year’s attendance is expected to surpass 500 participants. Reservations are currently being accepted and pre-registration must be postmarked by April 7.
