Book Named to Top 10 for Golden Arm Award

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation announced the Top 10 for this year’s Golden Arm award Friday afternoon and Notre Dame graduate student Ian Book made the list for the second-consecutive year.

Book has led the Irish to a perfect 9-0 record heading into the regular season finale on Saturday. He has done it through the air and on the ground so far this season.

He has passed for 2,097 yards and 12 touchdowns, with just one interception. Heading into the weekend, Book is tied for the FBS lead for most consecutive passes without an interception (237). On the ground, Book has rushed for 412 yards and six touchdowns. He ran for three touchdowns in the first half against South Florida to become the first Irish QB with three rushing touchdowns in a single half.

Book has garnered a number of national accolades this season. He has been named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 list four times and was recently named to the Davey O’Brien Award Class of 2020. Book has also earned ACC Quarterback of the week following the Pitt game and Manning Award Star of the week following the Boston College game.

The Irish return to play Saturday, December 5, to close out their home schedule as they welcome Syracuse (2:30 p.m. ET on NBC) to Notre Dame Stadium.
