Former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz was awarded the Moose Krause Distinguished Service Award before over 300 members at the annual Monogram Club Dinner April 17. Prior to the event, Rev. Paul Doyle, C.S.C., received an honorary monogram during the mass and meeting in the Monogram Room. Father Doyle, who earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Notre Dame, was ordained in 1977 and has been rector of Dillon Hall since 1997. He currently serves as chaplain for many of Notre Dame’s athletic teams.

Over 500 attended the Blue-Gold Football Alumni Dinner April 18 where the honorary coaches – Jim Morse, Terry Hanratty, Greg Marx, Allen Pinkett, Bryant Young and Ryan Grant — addressed the crowd. After the dinner, former players toured the Guglielmino Athletics Complex.

More than 100 swimmers and coaches celebrated 50 years of Irish men’s swimming and 25 years of women’s swimming during their first-ever reunion during the weekend.

Dennis Stark, Notre Dame’s first varsity men’s and women’s swimming coach; current men’s coach Tim Welsh; Carrie Nixon, current women’s swimming coach; and Caiming Xie, the diving coach for both teams, were on hand to welcome back their former charges and oversee an alumni meet. Rev. Robert Pelton, C.S.C., who has served the swim team in many capacities at Notre Dame, was honored with an honorary monogram during the swimmers’ mass and dinner.

The Monogram Club Tailgate welcomed over 400 people prior to the spring game, while 40 former players participated in the Football Alumni Flag Football game.
