NOTRE DAME, Ind. – After a highly competitive fall practice schedule, the University of Notre Dame baseball team puts a bow on 2014 with this weekend’s Blue-Gold Series, which will offer fans their first look at the 2015 Irish baseball squad that is set to enter their second year in the elite Atlantic Coast Conference in mid-February.
Both intrasquad games will be played at Frank Eck Stadium, where the Irish went 5-1 last year to close out the season after traveling the region to play home games due to FieldTurf installation at the Eck.
Fall ball action gets underway at 7 p.m. Thursday and wraps up at 2 p.m. Sunday. Both games will be full, nine-inning contests, are free to the public and can be followed through live stats. Links are provided at the top of the page. Friday’s game has been canceled due to unseasonably cool weather in the South Bend area.
Intrasquad series managers David Hearne, who is still recovering from February Tommy John surgery, and Blaise Lezynski, who is on the mend from fall wrist surgery, were put in charge of selecting their respective teams.
