Beth Hunter Named To 2009-10 NACMA Board Of Directors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame director of athletics marketing Beth Hunter has been named to the 2009-10 board of directors of NACMA, the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators.

Hunter was named to the board last weekend at the 18th Annual NACMA Convention at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla. Members chose Brent Seebohm, associate athletics director & vice president/general manager for the University of Arizona & IMG College to serve as president in 2009-10. Also elected were first vice president Jeff Bain, director of athletics at Martin Methodist College; second vice president Kurt Esser, associate athletics director – external affairs at the University of New Mexico; and third vice president James DiLoreto, associate athletics director – external operations at Boston College.

In addition to Hunter, the 2009-10 NACMA board of directors includes: Christie Anderson, assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions, The University of Montana; Shawn Becket, formerly with ISP Sports; James Companion, associate commissioner, Big South Conference; Frank Cuervo, general manager, Northern Illinois ISP Sports Network; Greg Herring, assistant athletics director – external affairs, University of Radford; Tracie Hitz, associate athletics director for marketing and sales, Northwestern University; David Lichtenstein, associate director of athletics for external affairs, Southeastern Louisiana University; Eric Nichols, director of marketing, University of South Carolina; Carol Parrish, director of marketing, University of Washington; Craig Pintens, associate athletics director – marketing and sales, Marquette University; and Ann Brett Strickland, assistant athletics director – corporate sponsorships, Western Carolina University. Christine Plonsky, women’s athletics director at the University of Texas, and Tim Selgo, director of athletics at Grand Valley State University will serve as advisors to the association’s officers and board of directors.

NACMA is comprised of nearly 1200 members from more than 325 universities and is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of athletics marketing administrators.

Hunter is heading into in her fourth year as director of sports marketing at Notre Dame after serving as sports promotions coordinator within the Irish athletic department since July of 2001. A 1998 graduate of Providence College, Hunter spent the 2000-01 year serving as assistant director of marketing and promotions and director of licensing at the University of Northern Colorado. She served as a graduate assistant in the sports marketing department at Providence from 1998-2000 while obtaining her master’s degree in business administration.
