Bertrand Named ACC Pitcher of the Week for Second-Straight Week

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — For the second-straight week, left-handed pitcher John Michael Bertrand was named ACC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Bertrand continued his stellar season in the 4-1 win over Clemson on Friday. Bertrand tossed a season-high 8.1 innings pitched and did not allow an earned run in the series-opening win. It was the longest start by an ACC pitcher this past week and Bertrand leads the ACC in innings pitched this season with 53.0.

Bertrand had not allowed an earned run over his last two starts, which covers a span of 16.0 innings against Florida State and Clemson. Bertrand had eight strikeouts against the Tigers and he ranks fourth in the ACC in strikeouts with 59.
