NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame Men’s Boxing Club continues its 79th year of Bengal Bouts competition with the semifinal rounds at 6:30 p.m. EST, on Tuesday, Feb. 24 in the Joyce Center Fieldhouse. The semifinals will feature 24 matchups across 12 weight divisions. Of special note, the heavyweight championship bout will be contested Tuesday night, featuring a rematch of last year’s heavyweight final.

Eight returning champions remain alive, including Mike Lee (175 lbs.) and Dan Rodgers (155 lbs.), both vying for their third titles. Kris Perez (140 lbs.) continues to chase history as potentially one of only a few boxers to ever win four championships.

All three local boxers have advanced two rounds and will step into the ring again Tuesday. Joey Leary, a finalist in 2007, is a 2005 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. Patrick Kibbe and Caleb Laux are both 2005 graduates of Marian High School.
