PEORIA, Arizona — Notre Dame Women’s Golf tied for 10th at the Westbrook Spring Invitational with freshman Lauren Beaudreau leading the Irish with her fifth-place individual finish.
Beaudreau shot a final round 67 (-5) to jump up three places to a solo fifth-place finish at 10-under par (206) for the tournament. The 206 (-10) marks the best 54-hole score in program history (by stroke total and in relation to par).
“Lauren played some amazing and steady golf,” head coach Susan Holt said. “It was fun to watch. She was able to capitalize on many of the great shots she hit!”
Hosted by Wisconsin, the Irish competed at Westbrook Village Golf Course in Peoria, Arizona, finishing at even par (295-283-286=864) for the competition to tie Missouri for 10th.
In the third round of the competition, the Irish shot a two-under-par 286 to lock up the tie for 10th, besting Nebraska, the hosts from Wisconsin, UC Davis, Iowa and Indiana.
In addition to Beaudreau, who had six birdies on the day, Claire Albrecht (72), Abby Heck (72) and Mia Ayer (75) also scored for the Irish in the final round. Madelyn Jones shot a final round 77.
As an individual competitor, freshman Jessica Meyers finished the final round with a one-under-par 71.
