Baseball Set To Host Alumni Weekend

Aug. 23, 2011

NOTRE DAME, Ind. –

The Notre Dame baseball team will host its annual Alumni Weekend on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3, at Frank Eck Stadium. The two-day event is highlighted by Saturday’s Alumni game which begins at 10:00 a.m.

Former players interested in playing should contact Reggie Brooks (via e-mail at rbrooks2@nd.edu) in the Notre Dame Monogram Club by Friday, Aug. 26.

This year’s game, as in years past, is free of charge to the public.

The weekend’s festivities actually begin on Friday, Sept. 2. The current Irish squad will practice from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and be available for a meet-and-greet afterwards. The practice is open to all former players and their families. There will also be a reception in the Eck Stadium Press Box from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

HOW TO REGISTER – Registration for the Alumni Game is being handled by Reggie Brooks. To RSVP, e-mail Brooks at rbrooks2@nd.edu or by calling 574-631-0446. Alumni are encouraged to RSVP by Friday, Aug. 26.

The Notre Dame baseball program would love to see as many of its former players back at the ballpark to honor our baseball alumni. Please spread the word to former teammates about this year’s Alumni Game.

ABOUT THE REGISTRATION PROCESS – Admission is free to the Alumni Game. The Notre Dame baseball program does not need a list of alumni family members attending. Stadium gates will open by 8:30 a.m. and participants should report to the third-base dugout for check-in. Participants will have the opportunity to take batting practice at 9:00 a.m., in order of arrival.

Players are reminded to bring a uniform and equipment. An Irish baseball hat will be provided.
