Bakich Inks ATO With Royals

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Reading Royals of the ECHL have signed senior Solag Bakich of the University of Notre Dame hockey program as announced by the team Saturday. Bakich will report to the Royals on an amateur tryout contract.

“I am grateful and blessed to have lived my dream of playing college hockey for the Fighting Irish and Notre Dame,” Bakich reflected. “I am so thankful for my exceptional teammates, coaches, and most importantly, my family who have guided and supported me throughout my career.”

This season, the Dallas, Texas native, registered eight points in 35 games played. The forward registered two points in the team’s opening series against Northern Michigan, starting his senior season with four points (2-2-4) in as many games. He ended his Irish career on a two-game point streak, tallying a goal and an assist in the Big Ten quarterfinals against Michigan State.

In four years with the Blue and Gold, Bakich skated in 108 games and amassed 33 points off 13 goals and 20 assists. He was twice named to the Academic All-Big Ten team (2021 & 2022).

“Now, I am excited to take the next step and begin my professional career,” Bakich added.

The Irish alum will report to the Royals on Tuesday.
