Austin Burgett Out Seven To 10 Days

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame sophomore forward Austin Burgett (Avon, Ind.) will undergo an outpatient cardiac procedure on Tuesday, Jan. 28 to correct a recent episode that occurred during the second half of the Notre Dame-Florida State men’s basketball game on Jan. 21.

Burgett, who has started three games this season and has played in all 19 contests, is averaging 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds. He is expected to miss seven to 10 days following the surgery. Burgett will travel with the team to Wake Forest for Saturday’s (Jan. 25) Atlantic Coast Conference matchup against the Deamon Deacons. He will be on the bench, but will not dress.

Burgett played 21 minutes and scored seven points in the 76-74 loss to Florida State before leaving the game on Tuesday night.
