IRISH HEAD TO MICHIGAN FOR ANOTHER TELEVISED GAME – The top-ranked Notre Dame women’s soccer team (7-0-0) will play a televised game for the third straight Sunday, at Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 17 (1:00 EDT) … the game will be televised live by Detroit-based Comcast Local and also can air on various Comcast affiliates (live and delayed; check local listings) … ND holds an 11-2 series edge vs. Michigan … the Irish are riding a 348-minute shutout streak and have scored 13 straight unanswered goals (since Santa Clara claimed an early lead in that Sept. 3 showdown of top-ranked teams … ND is 14-0-0 in Sunday games during the past two seasons (67-4 scoring edge) and has racked up 76 second-half goals (2.4/gm) spanning the 2005 and ’06 season …the Irish opened the weekend with a 5-0 win at DePaul on Sept. 15, led by the scoring of Chicago-area natives Michele Weissenhofer (2G-1A) and Brittany Bock (1G-2A) … fans are reminded of the new Irish Alert text-messaging system for women’s soccer in-game updates (see the Irish Alert link on the und.com women’s soccer page) … the ND Sports Hotline also will have a postgame wrapup after every game (574-631-3000, then option 4 and then option 2).
