Aug. 26, 2004

The annual Notre Dame Coaches’ Car Wash, originally scheduled for today (Thursday, Aug. 26) from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (EST) has been rescheduled because of poor weather in the South Bend area. The event will now take place Thursday, Sept. 2 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (EST) on the Gold Field parking lots just west of Eck Baseball Stadium (enter off Edison Road). Notre Dame’s coaches, their staffs and members of the athletic administration will take part in the event, with Irish women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw, baseball coach Paul Mainieri and director of recservices & fitness Sally Derengoski coordinating the event. There is a $5.00 donation to have your car washed — and the public is invited. The Coaches’ Car Wash is one of a number of United Way fund-raisers and events planned by various campus units for the next several months. The University of Notre Dame is the largest contributor to the United Way of St. Joseph County. Notre Dame employees may give to the general fund or name a specific agency they wish to support.
