NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Coming off an impressive junior campaign that saw him earn BIG EAST Men’s Tennis Player of the Year honors, Notre Dame’s Greg Andrews has earned a ranking of 24 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s preseason rankings and has also been invited to the prestigious ITA All-American Championships in October, the organization announced on Friday.

Andrews, who went 35-10 last season, is the highest ranked BIG EAST player by 14 spots. During the spring season the Richland, Mich., native went 26-4 playing primarily at No. 2 singles. He helped lead the Irish to a spot in the NCAA Tournament second round and also earned a spot in the NCAA Singles Championships. Andrews ended the 2012 season ranked 54.

The ITA All-American Championships are scheduled for Oct. 4-7 in Tulsa, Okla.

The Irish, who played an exhibition contest in Ireland last Friday against players who competed for Ireland’s Davis Cup Team, return to fall action next weekend as they split up to go to Illinois for the Illini Invitational and to Western Michigan for the Vredevelt Invite.
