NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame volleyball player Toni Alugbue has earned her fourth mention on the BIG EAST’s Weekly Honor Roll after a pair of double-doubles this weekend, the league office announced on Monday.
The Del Aire, Calif., native had a pair of double-doubles in matches against Cincinati and Marquette as the Irish closed out the regular season at 20-7 overall and 13-2 in the BIG EAST.
In a 3-2 win over Cincinnati, Alugbue had 22 kills, 11 digs and two solo blocks, and added 10 kills, 10 digs and two solo blocks in a 3-0 loss to Marquette on Sunday.
Alugbue also received a place on the weekly honor roll Sept. 3, 10 and 17 and was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Sept. 24.
The Irish open up the BIG EAST Tournament Friday in Milwaukee, Wis., as the No. 3 seed and will meet No. 6 seed USF in a 4:30 p.m. (ET)/3:30 p.m. (CT) quarterfinal match for the right to advance to the BIG EAST semifinals Saturday.
