Albrecht Named Women’s Golf Team MVP

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Notre Dame women’s golf head coach Susan Holt announced the team’s season-ending awards following the conclusion of the semester, with sophomore Claire Albrecht earning Monogram Club MVP honors.

In addition, Albrecht earned the first annual Fallon Award (lowest stroke average), while junior Abby Heck took home the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley Rockne Student-Athlete Award for the third consecutive year.

“After looking at each player and their body of work for the entire season Claire clearly stood out as our most consistent performer,” Holt said. “She was our only player who had all of her rounds counted towards team scoring. She just had a really solid year!”

Albrecht led the team with five of her 14 rounds at par or better and her highest score for the season was a 76, also the best mark on the team. She led the Irish at the Jim West Challenge (Oct. 20-21), shooting rounds of 68-71-72=211 (-5), to finish tied for ninth. It was her first career top-10 finish.

The 2020 season ended prematurely due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
