TUCSON, Ariz. — Freshman Ben Albin fired a four-under par 68 to move into a tie for sixth at the National Invitational Tournament on Monday, which is being played at the Omni Tucson National (Catalina Course).

As a team, the Irish shot a seven-over par 295 in the second round. Notre Dame is eight-over par for the tournament and in 12th-place (289-295–584).

Albin opened his round with a birdie on the 10th hole and also added birdies on the 15th, second and third holes to go along with 14 pars on the day. Albin (70-68–138) is five strokes behind the current leader, Nick Voke of Iowa State (133).

Freshman Kevin Conners shot a two-over par 74 for the second consecutive day and he is now in 41st-place at four-over par (74-74–148).

Junior Matthew Rushton shot a four-over par 76 and he is tied for 53rd at six-over par (74-76–150).

Freshman Miguel Delgado also scored for the Irish on Monday, posting a five-over par 77. Delgado is 13-over par for the tournament (80-77–157).

Junior Blake Barens rounded out the Irish lineup with a seven-over par 79. At six-over par, Barens is also tied for 53rd (71-79–150).

Santa Clara leads the field at 11-under par (565), followed by Nevada at six-under par (570).

The third and final round of the National Invitational Tournament will be played on Tuesday, March 1. Live Scoring is being provided by BridieFire.
