ACC Announces Conference Opponents For 2014-15 And 2015-16 Campaigns

April 22, 2014

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Repeat home-and-away games with Duke and Clemson, along with “partner schools” Boston College and Georgia Tech, highlight the University of Notre Dame men’s basketball team’s second season in the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2014-15.

ACC officials announced today the opponent pairings for both the ’14-’15 and 2015-16 campaigns. In addition to two games against the Blue Devils, Tigers, Eagles and Yellow Jackets, the Fighting Irish once again will face each of the other 15 ACC member schools at least once during the upcoming basketball season.

Notre Dame, which finished 15-17 overall and 6-12 in ACC play during its inaugural season, will play host to Florida State, Miami, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Virginia and will travel to Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech in remaining single-game contests.

The Fighting Irish had a 5-1 record last season against their repeat opponents for the upcoming campaign. Notre Dame earned wins against Duke, Clemson, Boston College and Georgia Tech at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center and defeated the Eagles in Chestnut Hill for its lone road win of the 2013-14 season. The Irish split the home-and-home series with the Yellow Jackets after losing the first game between the two teams in Atlanta.

As part of the 2015-16 conference campaign, in addition to Boston College and Georgia Tech, the Irish will face Miami and Wake Forest twice during that conference season. Notre Dame’s home slate will feature contests against Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech and matchups against Duke, Clemson, Florida State, Syracuse and Virginia on the road.

The entire 2014-15 schedule, including dates and times, will be announced at a later date. For information on season tickets, call Notre Dame’s Murnane Family Athletics Ticket Office at 574-631-7356.
