NOTRE DAME, Ind. —The fourth-ranked Irish return to action this Saturday (March 6) against Robert Morris. Opening draw between the Irish & Colonials is set for noon ET and the contest will be streamed live via ACC Network Extra.
Notre Dame was originally scheduled to meet Virginia Tech but that matchup was postponed to Wednesday, April 21. Saturday’s contest is Notre Dame’s “Hair Havoc” matchup as the Irish are styling their game hair in an effort to raise funds to honor HEADstrong Foundation’s mission of improving lives affected by cancer. - Saturday marks the first meeting between Notre Dame and Robert Morris.
- Notre Dame is currently tabbed No. 4 in both the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse Polls and is slotted at #3 in the U.S. Lacrosse Magazine Poll.
- On Feb. 22, the Irish named six team captains for the 2021 campaign: Andie Aldave, Savannah Buchanan, Bridget Deehan, Maddie Howe, Samantha Lynch and Kathleen Roe.
- Buchanan is serving as a team captain for the third consecutive season while Aldave, Lynch and Roe were also captains for the Irish in 2020.
- Notre Dame opened its season with a 19-5 victory over Vanderbilt on Feb. 13.
- Samantha Lynch matched her career-high with seven points on five goals and two assists while Kasey Choma also netted five goals in that season-opening win.
- Lynch’s efforts against Vandy earned her ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors (Feb. 16).
