WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The 13th-ranked Michigan Wolverines avenged their 1999 NCAA loss to Notre Dame by beating the Irish 5-1 Saturday at the Boilermaker Invitational. With the loss, the Irish fell to 20-8, while the Wolverines improved to 20-6.

Notre Dame scored its only run of the game when freshman Andrea Loman (Riverside, Calif.) tripled to right field and then scored on an infield single by freshman Andria Bledsoe (Higley, Ariz.).

Notre Dame plays Toledo (11 a.m.) and host Purdue (3 p.m.) Sunday in the final day of the Boilermaker Invitational.
