FOR STARTERS
- The Irish enter the weekend at 12-3 (12-3 ACC) and have earned victories in three of their last four outings.
- Notre Dame’s home contest against Virginia, originally slated for last Sunday (March 28) has been declared a no contest following Virginia’s cancellation of their spring season. The Irish receive a win for the sole purpose of ACC Standings, making them 12-3 in conference play, but not an official victory on their record.
- Last weekend, the Irish honored their Class of 2021 and earned a four-set triumph over Clemson on Senior Night (March 26).
- Charley Niego enters the weekend having earned a double-double in six of her eight seven outings.
- Niego has totaled 60 kills and 32 digs in her last three matches.
TROPHY HUNTING
- Entering the final weekend of the regular season, the Irish are in the mix to capture their first ACC Championship.
- The Irish clinch the ACC crown, and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, with a pair of wins over Georgia Tech and Duke and one Louisville loss to either Miami or North Carolina.
- The feat would mark the 18th regular season conference crown in program history, and first since joining the ACC.
- Before joining the ACC, Notre Dame captured 17 regular season Big East titles and 15 Big East Tournament crowns.
HISTORY VS. GEORGIA TECH
- The Irish and Yellow Jackets will be meeting for the 11th time on Thursday in Atlanta with Georgia Tech holding a 6-4 edge in the all-time series.
- Notre Dame, which has won two of the past three meetings with Georgia Tech, will be looking to avenge a five-set defeat last season (11.24.19) in Atlanta.
- In that matchup, Charley Niego paced the Irish with 23 kills while Caroline Meuth notched 15 kills and Zoe Nunez racked up 53 assists.
HISTORY VS. DUKE
- Notre Dame & Duke will be closing the regular season against each other for the third consecutive campaign.
- Duke earned a five-set win in Durham to close out 2018 before Notre Dame took down the Blue Devils in four sets on Senior Day 2019.
- The Irish also downed Duke in Durham last October to take both matches in last year’s season series.
- In that 2019 regular-season finale, Charley Niego became the first Irish player to have a 20-20 outing since Kristen Dealy did so in five sets against Delaware on Sept. 17, 2010.
- Friday will be the 19th meeting between Notre Dame and Duke with the all-time series even at 9-9.
