  • Seventeen former University of Notre Dame football players worked out at the annual Fighting Irish Football Pro Day today at the Guglielmino Athletics Complex and Loftus Sports Center.
  • Height and weight measurements, vertical jump, broad jump and bench press were all conducted at Haggar Fitness Complex within the Guglielmino Complex.
  • The 40-yard dash, pro agility (20-yard shuttle), 60-yard shuttle, three-cone drill and position-specific drills all occurred on Meyo Field at Loftus Sports Center.
  • Players worked out in front of 71 representatives from 31 NFL teams. That group included two head coaches and nine combined general managers or player personnel directors.
  • Chris Brown, Amir Carlisle, Sheldon Day, Matthias Farley, Will Fuller, Everett Golson, Jarrett Grace, Eilar Hardy, Matt Hegarty, Nick Martin, Romeo Okwara, Calvin Prosise, KeiVarae Russell, Elijah Shumate, Jaylon Smith, Ronnie Stanley and Ishaq Williams all participated in the Pro Day. Brown, Farley and Grace were the only players to take part in all drills. Carlisle only skipped the broad jump and Williams only skipped the 60-yard shuttle, while Russell, Golson and Hardy only skipped the bench press and 60-yard shuttle. Fuller, Hegarty, Martin and Okwara only did position drills. In addition to position work, Shumate and Prosise tested in the 20-yard shuttle, 60-yard shuttle and the 3-cone drill. Smith only benched, while Day benched and did position work. Stanley did position drills, benched, 20-yard shuttle and 60-yard shuttle.
  • Safety Matthias Farley, who was not selected to participate in the NFL Combine, posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.45 seconds. It would have ranked as the second-fastest 40-yard time by a safety at this year’s NFL Combine. Farley’s time was .01 faster than Tyvis Powell of Ohio State.
  • Farley’s 40-yard time today was better than Darian Thompson (4.69, Boise State) and Miles Killebrew (4.65, Southern Utah) ââ’¬” both of whom are ranked in Mike Mayock’s top-five safeties entering the draft.
  • Farley benched 225-lbs 21 times, which would have ranked second among safeties at the NFL Combine.
  • Farley clocked a 4.21 in the 20-yard shuttle, which would have ranked fifth among safeties at the NFL Combine.
  • Wide Receiver Chris Brown posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.44, which would’ve ranked fifth among wideouts at the 2016 NFL Combine. Brown competed in the combine but did not run the 40.
  • Brown’s 40-yard time today was better than Michael Thomas (4.57, Ohio State) and Josh Doctson (4.50, TCU) ââ’¬” both of whom are ranked in Mike Mayock’s top-five wide receivers entering the draft.
  • Brown’s 10’10” broad jump would have ranked tied for third among wideouts at the NFL Combine and tied for eighth overall.
  • Wide Receiver Amir Carlisle benched 225-lbs 17 times, which would have ranked tied for fifth among wideouts at the NFL Combine.
  • Carlisle also clocked a 40-yard dash time of 4.46, which would have ranked seventh at the NFL Combine among wideouts.
  • Carlisle’s 40-yard time today was better than Michael Thomas (4.57, Ohio State) and Josh Doctson (4.50, TCU) ââ’¬” both of whom are ranked in Mike Mayock’s top-five wide receivers entering the draft.
  • Linebacker Jarrett Grace benched 225-lbs 26 times, which would have ranked third among linebackers at the NFL Combine.
  • Cornerback KeiVarae Russell 11’2″ broad jump would have ranked second among cornerbacks and third overall at the NFL Combine. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey of Florida State (11’3″) and running back Daniel Lasco of California (11’3″) were the only two at the combine to register a better broad jump.
  • Russell’s 38.5-inch vertical and 4.00 20-yard shuttle each ranked fifth among cornerbacks at the NFL Combine.
  • Russell compared quite well to and Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves, widely considered the second-best cornerback prospect entering the NFL Draft.

  • Safety Elijah Shumate clocked a 4.10 in the 20-yard shuttle, which would have ranked third among safeties at the NFL Combine.
  • Linebacker Jaylon Smith benched 225-lbs 24 times, which would have ranked third among linebackers at the NFL Combine.
  • Defensive lineman Ishaq Williams’ 10’0″ broad jump would have ranked tied for fifth among defensive lineman at the NFL Combine.
  • Safety Eilar Hardy clocked a 4.12 in the 20-yard shuttle, which would have ranked third among safeties at the NFL Combine.
